There are three kinds of things that can make a tie ugly, those are : a weird material, an unmatched design, and a wrong combination of color. The first thing is a weird material. A tie which is made of a weird material will make a tie becomes ugly. A tie should be made of smooth material like cotton, because it will make a tie looks more elegant. It is not good to use wool, polyester or acrylic because it will make a tie looks like some malignant tumor growing on the guy’s neck and it looks cheap. The second thing is an unmatched design. Design should not be a strange picture because it will make a tie becomes weird. A good design can be the simple stripes, squares, bubbles, or rectangles. The last thing is wrong combination of color.
The color and design have to be synchronizing each other. For example, combining orange bubbles with hot pink squares or dark brown stripes with neon blue rectangles will make a tie worst. It is good to make an elegant silk tie with simple stripes or squares in subdued but rich colors. At least, a tie can be ugly even if it is made of natural material but it doesn’t have any design at all and using wrong combination of color on it.
